Your teeth have a unique pattern of ridges and grooves that help them function properly and keep bacteria out. Those patterns are formed in childhood and stay with you for life—so if you ever get braces, they’ll look different than anyone else’s! It’s also why we can’t use dental records as ID: each tooth has its own pattern of ridges and grooves that make it recognizable to us.
